Hi All,

I'm working on a 1999 Range Rover, 4.0L GEMS - The front right ABS sensor is faulting. Is there any tips or tricks to getting the rusted-in-place sensor out? Or is this one of those Land Rover "right of passage" maintenance items?

So far, the top quarter of the sensor broke off so there isn't anything to pull on anymore. Drilling small holes provides a means to pick out sensor bits, but nothing is breaking free (including the copper casing). Larger drill bits are turning things into a pile of mush and that's probably not smart to push down the hub. Trying to pry the casing inwards and off the hub hasn't been effective nor fun.

I'd rather not try removing the entire hub to get this one sensor replaced

tedious task, another way is to remove hub and push from inside out. either way you have your work cut out for you, no easy way.
