Hey guys, new to the forums...ive been a big member over on E46Fanatics.com with 2000-2006 BMW 3 series.

I hate when new members ask generalized questions that can be searched easily, and ive done hours of research but I haven't come across this question.

Are there any significant reliablity issues between the 07-08? (more questions to come)
I unfortunately totalled my beloved 2004 325ci, and have looked for a fairly hot car that will SLOW ME DOWN. Ive driven pretty quick with it and i know an RR will keep me within reasonable speeds. I am not getting a supercharged.

I am looking at this RR tomorrow, and I ran a carfax and came up with the fact that the guy got rear ended (owner said he got the bumper repainted, but i will check the quarter panels when I see them.)

In a serious opinion from you RR owners, what do I do? I considered the BMW 3 series lines, a few other trucks, but nothing came close to the RR. Only the reliability issues haunt me deep down. I plan on getting an extended warantee to 75,000 miles and another 2 years after my warantee is void, for $3,200? What are my smartest options and should I purchase private or purchase an RR from the dealer?

This is a new territory when it comes to cars for me. I'm a professional with 3 series and BMW's and smaller cars, but trucks are a whole different WORLD for me so please bear with me!

The Car is a 2007, 27,200 miles, has RSE, cold weather package, and running boards.

Whats my smartest move to make?!?!

Welcome; IMO, there's no reason to get a truck that has been rear ended and sprayed, plenty others out there that haven't been...

I will save about 3,000 on the vehicle though...i mean it is some savings...id jump into a bmw 335 if i had the choice but i feel the rover is my best option.

the same exact car is priced at about 44-47 at a Dealer...i'll be picking this one up for 39.5 at the most, for the same price

I'm new to the rover world myself. Coming from owning a e36 M3 to an e39 M5.. I loved BMW's. Then I moved onto the Porsche scene. With that in mind, coming out of your BMW and into a SUV might be a shock. If your trying to move up the luxory ladder.. or the 'car' social ladder.. the range rover is the marque. But if your looking for something with a bit of sportiness to it, the rover aint gonna be your thing. Again, this is just my oppinion. Even the supercharged version is slow in comparison to what I'm used to. But I got it because it looks stunning!

I think if your looking for sporty, try to get a RRS SC. I just purchased my supercharged last week for approx $36K. Its an '06 w/ 35K miles w/ warranty remaining till next July. So in terms of price, I'm sure you can find some better deals... and ones with no damage and in mint condition. The market fell like a brick on almost all cars... so as the buyer you have a huge advantage.

I agree. Too many RRS's coming off lease that can be picked up for a good price instead of buying one that has been rear ended. If the seller didnt tell you that I wonder what else he didnt tell you. Find a dealer that will go to auction and get you one. You can find dealer to do it for a fee.
I still have BMW's but am more comfortable driving my RRS. The RRS just does not handle as good.

unfortunately yes, it is the same one, and i couldn't find any better deals here in the NY region....i got the body shop invoice and the police report on the incident... 1/5 part of the bumper was blended and one parking sensor was exchanged from the car hit the bumper...no damage to structure and no paint work on quarter panel. cars in great shape, drves amazing, new tires, new brakes, oil change due in 3k miles.

Excited.

carrera = you pay for the name IMO.

08 m3 = newest, freshest, and sexiest of them all...especially for your agegroup demographic.

06 m5...its a sedan...its older..will cost you more to fix

...08 m3 hands down. I'd do CPO M6 but im biased :)

--btw guys..im not in med school..im studying business administration and own 2 of my businesses so far. Trying to get one off its feet as of the moment and its REALLY hard on me right now..(clothing line)

I would take the Carrera S. I just sold my 07 Carrera S w/sports chrono pkg and regret it now. I now have a Range Rover and a Sport and not sure why. For anyone who hasnt owned a 911, once you drive it the way it was meant to be driven, you will understand why they call it the best sports car in the world.
