Hi All

I have just installed a new drivers side door latch in my RHD Australian delivered 2001 4 litre.

It was nowhere near as difficult as I was expecting, albeit due to tips picked up here !

One issue remains to an otherwise perfect result. The pesty clip that we all struggle with that attaches the arm of the key barrel to the actuating rod would not retain the rod on reassembly. The rod pulls through it, as the tang looks to have broken off.

I have used the bushman’s solution of securing the arm with fine tie wire as a temporary measure. I have also set up a clandestine hidden string to open the car if it falls off again before I tackle the next project of getting the fob operational.

The quick question is can the recalcitrant clip be obtained as a spare part ?

As an aside, the low frequency height hunting in the EAS disappeared after a valve block overhaul ?

Cheers from Down Under
