I have a 1997 Range Rover with a no engagement problem. I checked the transmission oil and it doesn't smell burnt and I see no metal in the oil. The oil level was in the normal range. The vehicle starts but doesn't move when you put the transmission in any range, ie., reverse, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. what could be the problem and where would I start my diagnosis?
Sounds like your transfer box may be in neutral. Have you changed or switched any fuses? If not check the transfer box neutral fuse location (should be empty) to see if there is power present on BOTH terminals. ibis1
