Hey guys this coming weekend Im picking up this 95 RRC that won't start according to the actual owner ,this is what happen ..there was a tic noise coming from the engine and a friend of his father decided to play mechanic he did a tune up + fuel pump ,tune up included new plugs ,cables and distributer cap and rotor but he saids that after all that the truck never started again , what I found is that the cap was not even strap on and every thing looks brand new as he stated , this guy can't give much info since he knows nothing about cars , he is thinking I need to do a engine swap , battery is dead so I could not tested but Im going to mess with it over the weekend with my limited mechanical skills , making sure all cables are attach the right way and distributer cap is on right new fuel (it's been sitting for 10 months) and battery and cross my fingers .
My question is if you do a simple tune up like this what could cause the truck not to start again? what went wrong?
This guy didn't even notice that the cap was not even strap on.
