My 1991 RRC is running well. The AC works well but when I drive, hot air leaks through the footwells or the demist depending on which is set to open.

I suspect thar the fresh air valve is not working correctly. Could anyone direct me to how to test it and which of the vacuum lines in the engine bay control it?

Thanks

On my 94, which should be similar, there's a black plastic ball with two vacuum hoses on the driver's side fender. If one or both of those hoses is leaking/missing, then there isn't any vacuum to keep the vents closed and you get hot air.

One hose goes from the intake manifold to the ball, the other goes from the ball through the firewall to the check valve/vent.
