Hello Everyone,

We have done a few of the TDV6 tunes for customers so far, with some more conservative settings but during a trip to El Paso Texas to develop software for the McLaren 720S, we had the opportunity to test & further refine our software for the 2014-on TDV6 engine.

The results are phenomenal. We achieved peak torque figures at 2600RPM - showing 486WTQ on a 4 wheel drive linked dyno. Stock torque is rated at 443FT/LBS AT THE CRANK. Conservatively, that puts our peak torque numbers at 608FT/LBS at the Crank.

Peak gains of 68BHP and 165Ft/lbs, but the dyno charts tell the story here. Massive 'under the curve' area across the RPM band. You will also notice that the 'before' run starts later than the after. The reason for this is that on the stock/OEM programming, the truck would not stop downshifting on the dyno, in order to deliver the performance requested by the throttle input, it was forced to downshift at much lower RPM. You can clearly see on the after chart, zero problems with that, it just spools up and pulls. You can infer pretty easily that the stock curve would parallel the Tuned curve with similar observed differences.

This tune is available at $995 + shipping. Deliverable for the 2014, 2015, 2016 MY Trucks with our VTech Programmer. Those with 2017-on, on the Flexray network will need to use our loaner CMD Flash tool + Laptop to Read/Write.

OH BABY! That is truly impressive Stuart. For those that think diesels are slow oil burners... watch out. That rattle trap next to you may blow you outta the water at that red light.

It might indeed. That much torque at 2600RPM is insane. Especially if you're using it to tow a Horse Box, or a Car Hauler or something.
Folks have been waiting because we knew you had something in the works for the diesel folks. Last check you didn't want to say too much since you hadn't done the dyno yet. There are going to be some very happy diesel folks here!
This is very exciting and exactly what I’ve been waiting for. I miss the tq from my old V10 TDI and this looks to be the solution to that!

Looking forward to working with you Sam!
It's on order. I will post a review after I get it installed and some miles put on. I can say already that Stuart was great to deal with and answered all of my questions very quickly.
Results look fantastic! My only qualm: what’s the deal with warranty and dealer detection? I personally have a 5L SC, and would love to do a little tuning, but not at the risk of voiding the warranty and the CPO that cost me a pretty penny.
After the tune will the vehicle use more DEF?
Stuart...how does it work for a 2017...you send us a laptop with the new file on it? What happens if we have to go back to the dealer and we want to flash back to stock and then back to tuned? Can we use our own laptop to load the files?
I believe the tune includes a handheld tuner so the tune can be added and removed. I'm sure Stuart will chime in.

Subscribed.

Would love to know this as well.
I just bought a 2018 TD6 HSE and would be interested in learning more about what hardware (any?) and software changes are necessary, potential stresses on stock engine, transmission etc. and the warranty impact question. Voiding the warranty, or replacing an engine or transmission on a new car not designed to pump out that much power is a scary prospect. I just looked at VelocityAP's website - is the additional info available? Thanks
The rumors of the upcoming 300HP/500TQ Ingenium inline-6 turbodiesel have become far less relevant...why wait??

Any differences in tuning between the RRS and the Discovery 5? Same engine, same specs. Likely many interested over on the Disco5 forum...myself included.
Hi All,

Any real-world usage updates on this tune? Interested in a tune for my 2016 Td6
