is it possible to fix a problem in the ecu comp of the gearbox or in the valve blcok of the gearbox?
thanks a lot. sebastian

Sebastian,
the EAT ecu is under the LH seat. It sits on top of the EAS ecu.
I don't know about the valve block (its proably internal).

sebastian,
The valve block which you mention, its called valvebody, you have to drain the oil, open the pan,see all torx27 screws on the flat heavy aluminium valve body.its a robust, but nothing last forever, let know what problem you are facing.

thanks, the problem is:
if gearbox oil is cold everything is fine,
if gearbox oil warm, then in D the car doesnt start, needs either 1 or in D some 2 seconds of revs at 1500 or more revs, then shows in display gearbox fault and starts...
so changed battery ground cable, fusebox engine compartment, alternator and starter magnetics...
checked all groundings,
currently checking the xyz switch at gearbox as well as temp sensorat gearbox, and will also check eat ecu...

what is your oppinion?

jackyshaikh,
the actual situation is:
car departs in D,3,2,1 in reduction system low range perfectly,
but:
in high range without reduction only in R and 1, no power at all transfered in 2,3,D
( some days ago in the night it was cold around 10 degrees the car didnt have the problem being cold, but only warm; now the nights warmer and again after the problem there even if the car relaxed the night and being `cold`).
today we changed for a trial the eat ecu from my second range to the problem car, but no change...
so why do i face the problem in high range, but even perfect without problem in low range??
so i guess it could be??...??
thanks and best regards sebastian

thanks, changed ecu eat, the problem still there.

actual situation:
in low range gearbox works perfect in all gears...

in high range after starting or restarting the engine: to take off only in 1 or R...
after a few meters in 1 then everything shifts perfect even in 2,3,D...
even after stooping or stop and go gearbox works perfect in D,3,2,1 in high range...

( if i dont want to shift into 1 after starting-restarting i canalso give some revs in D and it says gearbox fault and starts moving ...) if i dont do this trick but start in 1 then no gearbox fault arrives...

what could it be, it doesnt seem to me being mechanical problem but rather something else...

best regards. sebastian

I could be wrong and Im no expert at all, but sounds like a fluid issue. The autobox needs a minimum amount of fluid to run and maybe warming it up gets it expanded enough to that threshold of the pump moves enough of it around otcover the various clutches etc which need it to run?

I guess you have checked all this and I just put my foot firmly in my mouth ;)

thanks,
well im neither an expert...
just trying to find the problem together with some experts as the chef technicans from lr switzerland and lr italy...
well its some kind of strange, because the problem is not exisiting in low range ( engaged reduction ),

but only in high range ( without reduction )...
and even there only after starting and restarting the engine.
if it would be there only after starting then i think it could be the way you tought,
but as it is also there if engine is warm after restarting,...
but only the first time i pull off, once i stop at a corner, then it pulls of fine...

so the longer it gets the more it seems strange and mystical as ( by now ) nobody has a explanation for it...

so why does it work perfect in low range?
why does it work perfect in high range once i pulled it away with 1
why does it need to pull off in 1 only in high range after starting / restarting the engine?
why does it pull off even in high range at the second and fifth and so on pull off?
why doesnt it get any power at all on D,3,2 after starting the engine ( thus starting cold and starting warm the same )?

any idea?
thanks in advance
sebastian

i got informations that ashcroft in uk are specialised in gearbox overhaul, will phone them as my gearbox symptoms change from day to day, the later it is the more i think it could be the governator sealings and the governator valve...

what do you think?
best regards. sebastian
