Hi

There are 4 screws and 4 clips. These fall to bits because upper tailgate is slammed too hard when closing it.
I had to have a talk with the security guard at my children school as he used to slam the tailgate very hard after the kids take out their bags every morning until all 4 screws were coming out by themselves and the whole plastic came off one day.

New clips from Landrover were not in stock so I bought Discovery clips part number DYC 10031L. These clips are much better then the original ones and the female part presses into the hole in the steel frame of the tailgate and the male parts clip into the plastic part. After this they are also easy to remove.

Tailgate with female part of the clips fitted. At the upper edge are 4 holes where the screws screw into plastic inserts. Mine are all gone and i will make some from aluminum with thread and bolt the part on.

Male part at the plastic.

Male and female clipped together. They are in the package like this.

Packaging with part number.

Hole for the screw. For me in the future for the bolts M5.

Best regards

Jos
