I have a 300TDI coming from England in a container that I bought ($2500 US including shipping) from a wrecking yard with 64,000 miles and want to do some preventive maintenance before I install it. They said that the clutch is good, so I am trying to think of what else I should do before the installation. The timing and serpentine belt for sure, but how about the rear oil seal? Anything else other than oil and filters? Thanks.

Head gaskets can go but being low mileage shouldn't be a problem. They normally go around 300,000km mark.As for oil seals haven't heard any problems with them.Check also the rocker cover gasket too they got a habit off leaking.
