New-to-me 1990 rattles at idle from the bottom end of the engine. Did an oil change to 15w40 and a M1-301A filter and in my mind it did get a little more quiet. May just be less engine noise, old oil was 15w30 with seemingly 10,000 miles on it. Completely black.

At this point I am scared it may be rod bearings..but it is more of a rattle than a knock. I will post a video tomorrow morning. Cats don't seem to be damaged. It DOES have an exhaust leak, but that is more so to the side of the engine. The rattle seems to be from the bottom of the oil pan.

Kicker is 58,000 documented miles..

Try some marvel mystery oil
It breaks up carbon and lubricants
Deep
And it can’t hurt
I would fix the exhaust leak
It can cause a rattling sound also
..... the cats can rattle
Good luck

Thanks. I'll pick up some MMO tomorrow.

I'm hoping none of the exhaust bolts snap. They're extremely rusty.

Check where the exhaust manifold
Connect’s to the exhaust pipe
That gasket can wear out and leak
They are a pain to work on

Another thing that can rattle is the metal shield that is on the cats

I'm going with the cats are bad. It would explain my 14 second 0-60 time and general no-power symptom.

Ran MMO through it and it did nothing really, the motor from the engine bay sounds healthy. The only odd noise is the various exhaust leaks.

You can hear the sound either side underneath.
