i have a 90 rrc and need to swap ina new motor. found an 88 rrc and was thinking of a straight swap in to my '90. Did all 88s come with the 3.5 and if so can I put a 3.5 in the 90 with out any problems?

88 came with 3.5. it will fit and work but why would you put older less powerful motor?
I need a motor asap and i found a localish '88 model complete range rover for 400 bucks runs great. The only other motors i can find are 3.9 in junk yards out of the vehicle with no way to check if they run ok for 500 to 650. i dont want to use a 3.5 but i need my truck up and running this week.
dont do the 3.5!!!! less power and its really hard to get parts!!!!
