Uneven cylinder head temperature

Hi all

Can anyone assist with my query please?

My offside cyl head warms up before the near side, but both even out after a while and the thermostat opens.

Can anyone advise on possible faults/fixes please?

3.5 V8 Pulsair (11D) pipework removed and crimped. JWR offenhauser 360 dual plane. Holley 390.

Also....

Can anyone advise on where I can find the timing marks on my damper please....there don’t appear to be any marks other than a bright centre punch mark, but I can’t identify TDC or any advance marks.

Why is this one side warming up faster an issue? The cooling system is a flow through design and is no way meant to be balanced. It does not present any issues nor does indicate anything failing since they balance once the thermostat opens.

Thank you for the prompt response. Just need to sort the timing out....idles and revs ok, but is hesitant and lacks power when driven. Perhaps just needs some use as it’s been unused since 1990.

Hi all

Im unable to find any timing marks 0 deg, TDC or otherwise. I’ve checked the outer rim of the harmonic balancer with no success. The only thing I’ve found thus far is a very faint centre dot mark on the front face of the balancer

Can anyone advise on how best to find the marks or an alternative method of setting the timing?
