I recently decided to upgrade to the AB style 22" wheels for my 2017 RR Supercharged but have found I have very few tire options available should I go wider than the 275/40/22. My local tire dealer has said that I cannot go to any smaller circumference tire than the OEM tire size, but than I may go larger. Would anyone be kind enough to help me understand why I cannot go to a smaller circumference tire such as a 285/35/22? Thanks!

Ideally you should maintain the same rolling circumference so that your speedo etc are properly calibrated. There are many tire size calculators on the web to help you choose a size and see how far off your speedo will be.

Not sure if the L405 has this...but my Cayenne has the ability from the user setting to specify the tire size (if you change to winter tyres) so the speedo and the TPMS adjusts correctly...

Yeah, you want to avoid going to a smaller overall diameter (also don't go more than 3% larger). Stick with a 40 series.

I just swapped to 285/40/22s.

Other than the factory size (275/40R22), you can run a 285/40R22 or 305/35R22 on the OEM wheels. I have 305/35R22 on SVAutobiography wheels.
