One of the main reasons of selecting the 2016 Evoque was the technology features. For example:Lane-Keeping Assist to prevent unintended lane changes by monitoring road markings. If the vehicle begins to drift into an adjacent lane without the driver signalling beforehand, Lane-Keeping Assist applies a gentle steering correction to maintain its lane position.Park Assist - Parallel Park/Parking Exit/Perpendicular Park.Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, Forward Alert, and High-Speed Intelligent Emergency Braking. From what I have seen so far owning the vehicle for about 4 weeks now. None of the technology in the vehicle really works properly! I would say its more "half-baked" in its current form. I previously have owned Lexus, BMW and other high-end vehicles and have never had issues with technology packages as much as I have with this vehicle. My BMW could parallel park itself in spaces that I am 100% positive I could not personally squeeze into. That's the whole point of adding these packages as they provide a convenience! The Parking Assist is worthless. The system has never correctly parked itself, not even once! Pulling perpendicular into space the size of an RV is hilarious to watch. The vehicle moves front, back, front, back, so many times its the definition of insanity. I would say 90% of the time, regardless of perpendicular or parallel parking, if I didn't disengage the system the vehicle would just plow into one of the vehicles it's trying to park between. How is this an added feature? They should stop selling this feature or touting it as advanced technology when it's utterly a failure before someone slaps them with a class action lawsuit. The lane assist feature does vibrate the steering wheel (sometimes) assuming all conditions are met, however doing so lightly, but it doesn't aid in automatic corrective measures as the brochure claims it does. The Forward Alert and High-Speed Intelligent Emergency Braking don't seem to work either, or if they did I wouldn't be willing to bet my life on it. The other day, as traffic slowed, I elected to see how far I could "push" the systems before it would alert me or engage. It did neither. If not by human or otherwise divine intervention I would have plowed into the traffic jam in front of me.It's shocking to me that no one else other than me seems to be complaining of these technology failures. I sometimes wonder if we are the only ones that "bought into" the technology promises and were "upsold" on the premier packages!?
