I’m needing to do an engine swap on my 2014 RRS and I’ve found a great deal on a rebuilt 2010 Supercharged 5.0 motor. Both engines are the AJ133 and my local shop said that the swap should work, but wasn’t 100% sure. The dealership is saying that they are not compatible but could not tell my why.

wondering if anyone has any experience with this or could give me any further insight into whether or not this swap will work?

Most likely the engine is the same, but all the ancilliaries are different?

I'd go with what Land Rover says if it were me...

There are some differences...mostly electronics and crank bolt direction.

Yeah, that would present a bit of a problem!

Not crank rotation! Just the bolt

Ahhhhhh, that makes all the difference!

In all seriousness OP.... Swapping motors from gen to gen is a headache I've learned not to get involved with in regards to electrical accessories and wiring harnesses, getting components to talk to each other nicely, etc. It's not for the faint of heart nor with a squeaky wallet. Be prepared. I'm sure it can be done and I hope it works out nicely for you!
