Hi i'm new to these forums so forgive me if i sound a bit newish.
my RR sport which i have had from new 2014 been regularly serviced by main dealer and one specialist is leaking from the rear diff. i'm told that its a common problem due to the rear diff pinion seal. i've also been told that JLR have repaired under goodwill gesture as these are isolated to the 2014 model and mine has only done 21000 miles. L R main dealer has quoted me app £1200.00 to change it "ouch" is there anybody out there that's had the same experience and what's been your success in getting JLR customer service to put it right out of warranty

Hi, mine is still under service plan, and the rear diff started leaking.

The dealer carried out the pinion seal repair a few months ago and all was fine.

The car was standing while we went on holiday for 3 weeks, and when we got back the rear diff started whining.

I'm actually at the dealership now, and the head mechanic heard it as well on our test drive, and he says maybe the oil loss damaged the bearings slightly, even though it seemed fine after the repair.

The service plan will cover the cost, as it covers any mechanical defects.

Mine probably started leaking because I started taking off-road, the previous owner never did, so the rear diff had never been worked hard.

Just heard back from the dealership - it is indeed the rear diff, and they have to motivate to HQ to get a replacement one
