Hello, my first post and I defiantly have a problem. I just purchased a 2008 sport sc. when I test drove it only went about ten miles and everything felt and sounded great. I go to drive it the next day and the car shuts all electronics off besides the radio. The weird part is the motor stays on and no change in driveability. After about ten seconds everything comes back on and about a minute into resetting everything is back to normal. I decide to fill it up and go on a nice long 150 miles drive to see if it will act up again and got nothing. Today however it did it twice within ten miles of each other. No warning lights or anything to indicate it’s about to happen. There are no codes or check engine lights. I am assuming an electrical short maybe? I have not done anything to it as it’s pretty new and would like some advice before I go wrenching. I am extremely mechanically inclined but these are new to me so I don’t want to just tear into it. Any and all help is appreciated.

I have a 2008 and it has been VERY reliable over 10 yrs.
That sounds like a loose battery pole, check if your positive or neg. cable is not loose on the pole. I would bet they put a new battery, and one of the cables is loose. Mine had exact issue once.

Got the same thing on my '13 RRS SC. The indy believes it is a diag port.

Yeah after I researched some more I found what the clip is. It has something to do with the battery during shipping, once at the dealer it’s removed and not used. I believe it’s wiring as well. I checked battery voltage and alternator voltage all is well. Maybe a bad module? I just find it so odd that it is still driveable.

Shot in the dark guess since it only happening when braking... forward momentum. Do you think maybe the power line to your under hood fuse box is loose?

I was going to suggest, when it happens you gently push on the front of the instrument panel / cluster and see if that restores power. I’m pretty sure there are posts on here with people having had the same issue several years ago.
I recollect at least two others.
(Sorry I didn’t see this thread till you reported back with the solution)
Glad to hear you got it sorted.

Well all is not well. About 300 miles later it happened again. Will be taking it back to the shop Monday. Pretty frustrating. I tried searching the forums but nothing really came up for what i searches. If anyone has the thread from prior that would be great.

Another update. The alternator was replaced because it was creating high voltage spikes leading the tech to believe the electrical was turning itself off to protect it. I have noticed since the ipack was replaced certain things are showing now in the menu setting of the nav screen that didn’t prior. Also car seems to be all good as of now.
