2007 Overfinch Range Rover Supercharged

869 Views 15 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Googs
Hello everyone. I recently purchased a beauty. The car only has 67k. It is not my first supercharged and I can tell the difference. This one seems more powerful and the gearing seems different too (more sporty). It also has a red engine cover (repainted I think) with Overfinch logo. Does anyone know what modification they were doing enginewise at the time? I have attached some pictures. Thanks. Maxime

I might have found the answer I was looking for. I found this very helpful article online:

The tuner market in the U.K. is fundamentally different from that in the United States.
Here, customers are more likely to turn the wrenches themselves, if possible. In Britain, Jeeves rings up the garage and someone comes ‘round to pick up the vehicle, returning it complete with hi-po ministrations.
For Range Rover owners across the Pond, the people to call are Overfinch. This fall, the 30-year-old firm will offer a boosted, 5.0-liter, 500-horsepower version of the 2006 Range Rover (pictured here) and Range Rover Sport S/C, complete with street-sweeping aero cladding and optional 22-inch Tiger wheels and tires.
Overfinch’s authorized agent in California is British expat Mark Braham, whose tuning shop in Westwood has been scaling up the lux in Range Rover products for two years with a variety of upholstery, exterior treatments and audio/video upgrades. Contact Overfinch USA at (310) 394-4232 or [email protected].
Braham’s firm will offer two stages of performance upgrade on the new supercharged Range Rovers (with Ford-Jaguar engines replacing the previous BMW 4.4-liter mills).

  • The Stage 1 upgrade involves reprogramming the engine management computer and changing the pulley to the supercharger.
  • For those with a few tens of thousands more to spare, Stage 2 involves pulling the stock motor and replacing it with the hand-built, 5.0-liter crate motor shipped from Overfinch UK.
The process could take several weeks, but, says Braham, “We’ll be more than happy to pick up and deliver the car.”

Your engine cover has been re painted but not by JLR.
Very nice RR L322 by the way you're lucky to pick up one with such low mileage.

No Overfinch lettering on hood, bootlid, brakes. The sills don't look Overfinch either. No Overfinch front/rear bumpers, although the exhaust is non-stock. No Overfinch wheels. The engine cover was painted by a butcher, horrendous job.
Overfinch logo ovals are $20 each, wheel caps $30 (I know, I bought 4 recently).
Overfinch didn't do any transmission or diff changes. You may have a smaller supercharger pulley. Perhaps a sharper transmission tune, but the only place I know that remaps 6HP in Land Rovers is in Australia so I assume the transmission just seems to shift more aggressively because of the engine output.
Do yourself a favor and run the VIN through Overfinch themselves. It will save you a lot of headaches once you know what this car consists of and where it came from.

Thanks for your message and your thoughts about the engine, the car, and its modifications.

I am planning to run the VIN @ Overfinch, but I read that they no longer have their old archives.

I agree that the engine cover is an awful job but I believe it was repainted recently. I believe it might have been red before that. The badging on the engine cover and the front and rear are metal and not cheap plastic from China. I am thinking of having the engine cover repainted to better quality.

I believe the car has the Overfinch Aero Styling Pack 1 (l322 580s style) without the front bumper. Each exhaust has Overfinch written on them. the car doesn't have the OF spoiler either. The front grill, side vents, door handles and side mirrors are also painted to match the body color.

Funny story about the wheels I do have an OF Tiger 20 inches wheel in the trunk as a spare but the previous owner put L322 OEM last gen wheels... Someone on the forum posted about someone selling 3 OF tiger wheels but it was a long time ago. Maybe I will get lucky and reunite all 4 one day.

By the way, doing my research, I think I found the sweetest L322 Overfinch of them all!! I love everything except maybe the wheels.

Appreciate it Thanks!

Found this one as well.
Re: VIN - perhaps JLR will know whether it has been delivered to O/F directly or maybe someone added the bodykit and goodies post-factum. This would explain the lack of brakes and maybe the lettering situation.
The supercharger pulley is exceptionally easy to spot - you only need a ruler and measure the diameter.

I will definitely do that. Thanks.

I know that back in the day Mark Braham (I don't know him) was in charge of OF in the USA and was based in Santa Monica. From its Carfax my car was serviced at JLR Santa Monica until around 40k miles then the car was based in South California (San Diego) and now I have it in the SF Bay Area with 67k Miles.
It might be even harder to really know what and who did what on the car as here in the USA it was not like in the UK where you would buy the car at the dealership and send it to Overfinch where they would do everything before delivering it to you.
If you add the fact that some US cars were sent to UK to be modified there, some were modified by OF US in the US, and some in the US by independent shops (like RDB LA and others...) It starts to get very complicated.

I believe I’ve seen Chinese made aftermarket Overfinch parts on Supertweak.
Personally, I don’t care for the Overfinch look.
As for engine tuning, I had Eurocharged Performance dynotune my 4.2. It’s rated at 453 HP and 490 ft/lbs. I prefer the sleeper effect anyway. The only hint that mine isn’t stock is the Magnaflow exhaust.

Hey Luis, thanks for your response.

How is the dynotune? has it drastically changed the car? Is it something like this:

I would love to see a picture of your car. How many miles now?

They have an Overfinch full-body kit and 2 sets of Overfinch Olympus alloy wheels for sale right now but extremely expensive. Do you think made in China? or old Overfinch stock?

They are similar though Eurocharged is not a plug and play kit. It is a flashing of the ECU.
Both kits seem to get about the same HP but Eurocharged gets more torque.

I love the spec!
There’s something about an L322 that puts em above the rest!
