Hello everyone,

New to the forum and just picked up a 2006 a month ago. Having some trouble with the front end. Luckily (or unluckily) enough I came from a jeep so I have experience diagnosing front end steering issues. The steering feels loose and makes noise when I turn. Also, the front, inner tire is worn badly. I brought it to the dealer and they diagnosed it as being sway bar bushings. I disconnected the sway bars and when the vehicle is at a stand, i can still hear the clanking when turning the wheel. I got under it and i'm 90% sure it's the front driver's side tie rod. The noise seems like it's coming from the inner part of the tie rod where it connects to the steering linkage. Is there a ball joint in there? I've read through the sticky's and couldn't find any kind of write up on replacing a tie rod (without replacing the tie rod end). Anyone have an experience replacing this? Anyone have any other opinions as to what else it could be? Thanks!
