I recommend double checking your manual, but I believe its 8 quarts.
I've asked two different indie LR mechanic shops on interval. One recommended changing every 6,000 miles and using full synthetic oil. The other recommended saving money and using synthetic blend and changing every 3,000 miles. Personally, I go with the former.
9.5 quarts of 5W-30 with the oil filter change (9 quarts without), done every 7500 miles unless you live in a dry dusty area (like a desert) then its half that. If you don't know when it was done last, its time now. You choose the brand and type, full synthetic, partial synthetic, of conventional, 10 people will tell you ten different brands and or types if you ask.
