4.4 petrol Started playing up and not starting all the time, can wait 30 mins try again and it will start and run, other times it won't start for days and will just keep firing and cutting straight out, when it does run it drives fine but on a couple of occasions it has died at traffic lights and won't restart for a while, only fault code related to cam sensor bank 1, so I changed both made no difference, changed crank sensor, spark plugs, battery, complete fuel pump assembly in tank still no different, garage have had it for over a week and can't find anything, no fault codes, any help welcome, fairly desperate now!

Has nothing to do with the cam sensor faults you're getting, and complete shot in the dark, but seeing as how you've already swapped your relays around(PCM and FP) I would toss a new ignition capacitor on it, pretty inexpensive and can cause this kind of thing, as ignition coil power is wired in series with it.

Ok thanks where abouts is it located?

Take a look at post #8 in the link, should be the middle picture, and the shiny new part, very easy to replace, but located above the RH fuel rail.
Is there anything else that would cause this?
Unfortunatly, yeah, all kinds of different things can cause random intermittent issues like this, from sensors failing, to breaks in wiring, to an ECU going out.
