HI guys i have a 2004 td6 Vogue

It runs fine until it drops below 1/4 of a tank of diesel then die's , Ive tried this 4 times and when you fill it with fuel it's fine !!

I took it to my local dealer and they have diagnosed the transfer pump in the fuel tank which pumps the fuel from the left to the rigrht side so the main tank pump can pump the fuel to the secondary high pressure pump , So my question is has anybody had this problem or know anything about changing these pumps ??

Rob

Oh btw i'll be selling it soon and i'm after a 2008 ish tdv8 , Black , Black leather with piano wood !!

Fill it up and then sell it? :D

It is feasable that the pump itself hasn't failed, it could be a loose connection. Did the dealer investigate or did they just plug it into the computer?

Hi Dan

I must admit i have been tempted to do your first suggestion but the chances are it'll end up with a friend so best do it right :|

Apparently the second syphon pump in the tank isnt transferring the fuel from the right to the left hand side of the tank as it's a saddle tank , the left side should be pumping into the right constantly but if the pump fails it uses all the fuel in the right hand side and leaves the rest in the left hand side and stops !!

Unless anybody can tell me different !!
