Well, more likely this will be my last post on this forum for awhile...Just these past days, I was up in Northern Wisconsin, wheeling the famous pipeline and unfortunately, fell victim to the rough terrain...Well, deep water hole...4 feet, to be exact...Been hitting them all day, at a few feet deep at most, but the last one, well, it got me...Rig sunk like a sub...Plus, to add insult to injury, ended up ramming into a boulder within the water hole...Water filled up the cabin, and the last crys(horn blaring, wipers/washer, dash lights and windows up and down)of my Dear Borrego could be heard, knowing the BeCM, along with all the other electrics, are being shorted out...I tell you, it's like watching your dog get hit by a truck in slow-motion....You know the outcome, but can't do a **** thing about it...Well, insurance adjuster is going to look at it today and hopefully, give me fair market price for it...Just want to give a shout out to everyone here that helped out with my issues for the past few years...It's been a trip well traveled...Hopefully I'll find myself back in a Rover, Pre-BeCM and then I can continue the voyage...Take care all...Jesse...

"I tell you, it's like watching your dog get hit by a truck in slow-motion...."

No other car in the world can make you feel this way...

My Becm isolation/relocation back up to the top of my priority list again... I have to manage this quickly before I get wet too looooooool

Regards,
P.S: And how about you just take another RR without engine, crashed or something for example and change the electronics?
I have always wanted a yellow Vitesse or Borrego. I think I am going to be sick.

Are you really just going to let her go with no attempt at saving her?
:crybaby2: i'm sorry for you.
I love Borrego's and i had saved beautiful photos of you rig in the snow.
Please save it. Adapt it to your needs and run.

Sersan, you'll need a roll cage to hold that thing up.

I know what you mean... I was honestly scouring the internet this morning to see if I could locate one for sale anywhere...

PLEASE save her!

Thanks for all the kind words...Funny thing is, I'm usually not that emoitionally tied, but this rig has been good to me and my family...Never left me stranded...Been out west and has been driven in some of the worst Wis weather...And to think, 3 years ago, I traded my MazdaSpeed 6 for it...I just needed to get out of my lease and was looking for a SUV...It was between the Borrego and some LTZ Tahoe...Didn't even know what a Land Rover was...I have heard of them, but associated them with yuppies...lol...Test drove them both...But the Rover seem to have more class and sufitication than the Chevy...The LTZ felt like, well, a school bus for soccer kids...So I went with the Borrego...And the rest is history...Here are some more pics of the pipeline prior to the drowning...As for the pic with water, those are the Small holes I went though, the big one was about the same size, just a tab bit deeper and rutted...

See if they will let you keep it - I'll buy the tail lamps and the roof rack from you.
something that nice is definitely worth a becm and rewire...
(softly playing "Dust in the Wind")

Man that sucks. I agree with everyone else, I'd try to rebuild.
NOOOOOOO!

That was my very first thought.... I agree with every one else - get at fair price from the insurance - a see if you can buy it back for a small fee - that's possible here in good old DK - don't know about your insurance rules....

A Borrego is THE coolest Range Rover EVER! - I would so love to own one myself - have thought about buying an old banger and converting it into a Borrego racer... - that will hopefully be a project somewhere down the lifeline....

RESTORE it - bring it back to life - get a new engine, BECm and whatever you you'll need - A borrego is not a car you own - it's car car you bring on....

Ferdinand - wishing you and your Borrego the best of luck!!!

Sorry for your loss mate, its a horrible thing to have happen, almost brought tears to my eyes

If you have the means, please restore it, its a shame to see another P38 consigned to the scrap yard
That stinks, beautiful fall colors up here in the midwest. curious what insurance buyback would be.

Buck and a quarter...
Hi to All, Could someone please educate me what exactly is a "BORREGO" or a "VITESSE" not in any of the catalogue's i've seen is it what we in UK call "AUTOBIOGRAPHY" best regards sillyboy
Both are NAS limited editions. Go on the main site there's plenty of infos about limited editions.
I'd like to import one of those Rhino, Callaway, Trek, Borrego or a SVC
Well, I hate to see you just let it go. Unless you have a hydrolocked engine, you can easily bring it back. I sank my rover in December and was back on the road 100% in January, and that was with it being 1.5 hours away at my parent's garage. I pulled apart the BeCM and cleaned it with distilled water, then electronics cleaner and WD-40. Fortunately that was the only computer to get wet, but it was pretty easy. I would imagine you could do the same for your other ECU's.

It would take some time, but you could save it pretty easily.
