20" Tyres for the UK

1711 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Viper1993
I am looking at replacing the 20" tyres on my stock LR 20" 7 spoke alloys.

It seems that over here there are only a few choices as listed below: Can anyone advise on which is the best all season tyre and why I should pick it?

Thanks

Adam
In order of highest cost first:

2. Michellin Diamaris
3. Pirelli

Pirelli-period. Availability as you've discovered has a major bearing on what you can achieve ! Which part of the UK are you ?

Vinniman,

Smack fair dab in the middle! Leicestershire. Land-locked.
I always fit Michelin's to my car, I have tried every other tyre and you cannot go wrong with Michelins, I believe they offer far more grip in dodgy conditions over Pirelli's! Its ashame that people never get to find out because Michelin's tend to be more expensive, but if you want my advise, they are the best tyre around!
i had diamaris on my old x5, i found that the front tread wore quite quickly on the outsides whilst on the rear no wear at all, maybe i should just slow down whilst cornering ?
I have recently switched to the Yokohama PARADA Spec-X tire which is available in both a 255 and 265 width. I had been using the Grandtrek and was happy with them, but not happy with the price or how long they were lasting for me.

In short, the Yokohama has FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. Dry handling is outstanding, tire noise in non-existant, wet traction is very good, snow traction is excellent (just survived a brutal midwest storm,) and they are priced over $100 less per tire than the Dunlop. I can't comment on how long they will last, as I've only put on about 7500 miles - but I will definitely purchase them again.
