Hi I'm experiencing an engine fault message on ignition on self check which puts the engine in limp mode but no EML on, I've ordered a Hawkeye total which I'm expecting delivery of in a few days.
I've searched the internet for similar faults reported but not found anything I know its body off to replace the turbo I've removed the heat shields so I can just about see the turbo and actuator and it appears to have limited movement but not seized? My question is can the actuator be changed in situ? The cars a 2006 2.7 TDI (the ever valves are blanked off too before I got it) I know once I get my Hawkeye I'll be able to provided more info thanks Adam

Once again - great as it is, this is a US site and no diesel L320s were sold in the US so for engine related issues you need to look elsewhere.

My suggestion is go to your own RRS site in the UK - http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/

Having said that, on the 2.7TDV6 the turbo itself rarely plays up - it is nearly always the actuator sticking. While yours may move it may still stick - my understanding is that the actuator can be lubricated/replaced without taking the body off (is a pain in the .......) but for the turbo the body will need to come off (I believe).

Go to http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/ where some contributors are mechanics who work on these on a day to day basis and can give you correct answers rather than my limited knowledge.
