Hello All

New to forum but not to RR. I have owned a Soft Dash for five years and have recently been tiding it up.

To find out more about my car I ordered a BMIHT certificate, not overly great value at £42.00 but it does state that my vehicle was fitted with a five speed auto box from new, this was a surprise to me (I've never counted through the gears) as I assumed that later classics had four speed autos.

I can't find anything relating to this fitment on the 'net' and was wondering whether other members have come across this before?

Nope. 4 speed with lock up torque converter. Most likely incorrect coding was entered or other typo. Rather like folks that order up papers for their rigs only to be told their Range Rovers were made by Rover not Land Rover.

Ah that makes sense. So what I thought was the change in to 5th gear around 50 mph is actually the lock up devise engaging, I also get a drop in rpm that being down to the drive being stabilized. Thanks for the clarification.
