Quickie for someone out there who has classic cars hopefully. We're looking at buying a LR S2a that doesnt have front seatbelts fitted. If they were never fitted, must one have them fitted now for an MOT?

Not sure if all Series IIa's were built before the law changed but if it was built before a certain date and was thus never fitted with, seat belts, revercing lights or rubber pads on the break pedal etc then it doesn't need them for an MOT.

Just double checked with my mate who has a 1958 series IIa.

he said its also exempt from break lights, wipers, indicators, emissions, horn, fog lights and mirrors. He's fitted them all for safety's sake though, but he legally didnt have to.
