I replaced the battery and I still have the issue. It hasn't stranded me but it will give me the click and a brief turn and then after shutting it off and waiting a few seconds it will then start. When it starts it behaves normally. Could this be a solenoid or starter going bad?
After my initial post the issue reared its head after 8 months and this time it only clicks, no start doesn’t engage at all. Just a click. Tried taking the battery hone and charged it, but still just a click. Solenoid or starter?
I’d say solenoid, but since it’s part of the starter I can’t say it really matters much. If you can get access, whack it with a hammer and see if it starts.
I received my starter and changed it out. No more starter issues. I bought a remanufactured one from Rock auto. $97 to my door, sent the bad one back, and got $44 core refund. $57 dollars after shipping and everything in. I did have to buy a swivel to get the power cable off.
2+ hours of swearing but it’s done…
thanks for the information all!
