The other day my battery went flat & had new one fitted under warranty as it wasn't taking a charge. The RR ran for a day and next morning went to start it up and the key wouldn't turn.
Charged it up (lots) and still nothing, disconnected the battery checked and it was fully charged, re-connected it and now I have nothing - no lights no dash nothing!
And of course it's a long weekend here in WA!
Double check the battery terminals and cables. Measure the voltage at the cables. If all good, check the ground wire. You should at least get some lights on if you have a connected fully charged battery. Maybe your replacement “brand new” battery is no good. Try jumping it with another car, make sure to not jump it at the battery. Do you have lights on now? Does the RR start?
check the POSITIVE battery terminal post to the end of the of the first bolted connection of the positive wire,
it has a power disconnect ,
once it blows power is cut.
Also twist each battery terminal and make sure each one is tight on the battery,
you can use a few pieces of copper wire between the terminal and post to tighten things up,
also check every bolted connection of the battery wires
OK, so that was not the fix as the battery died again, took it to a sparky who found the problem was a short in an android tablet that I had fitted, so removed the fuse for the radio etc and problem gone. I still have to fix my wiring though!
But he said that the gearbox was also drawing power when switched off? Does anyone know if this is right or does it have a delayed stop?
Thanks
