  4. P38 Valve Block Diaphram/Orange disc replacement

Range Rover Mark II / P38
I'm doing my 2nd valve block rebuild and have a question. I noticed on my 1st rebuild, after installation of the diaphram with the orange disc, when my system lowers that there is now a noise from the valve block that was not there prior to the swap of the diaphram to the disc. Is this normal? I...

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Hi I rebuilt my engine approx 20 months ago. I renewed the cam, lifters, push rods, valve springs as well as all the usual bearings and piston rings. Since then I've done approx 8000 miles. Over the last 3-4 months I've started getting a rattle/tapping at idle once the engine is warmed up...

  11. P38 4.0 valve stem seals

Range Rover Mark II / P38
I am in the middle of replacing head gasets on a 99 P38 4.0. Considering the complaints I've seen on head gaskets, this one's done well to go 315,000 km. before failing. I received with the kit new valve seals, but am not sure about how to install them without destroying them. They seem to go...

Hi folks I have just replaced all the o-rings in the EAS Valve Block using a repair kit. While preparing for the "project" I did a search for pictorial how-to's and found one on the rr.net main site. They are both excellent guides and I credit them in my own guide that I have put together at...
