  2. 1999 P38 select neutral warning fixed it was the TPS plug

Range Rover Mark II / P38
If this helps someone, the select neutral warning came on. Caused slower shifting and the trans did not lock up in high gear along with bad mileage. I pulled and checked the high/low motor, shift switch on the trans, shifter cover and trans ecu. Everything looked good and for what I could check...

  4. First extended drive, return of the hiccup! TPS code thrown.

    Range Rover Classic
Today we took Daisy (the 1987 RRC I have been struggling with) on the first extended drive post install of the 14CUX (and other special guests) to eliminate a nagging issue with cutting out. Results were mixed. We drove about 150 miles, both extended highway speeds and in town stop and go...

  7. where can i buy a new TPS sensor?

    Range Rover Classic
Hi. New to the forums here. I have an 89 with the EFI light on and its throwing a code 17 for the throttle potentiometer. 8. TPS Resistance

    Range Rover Classic
Hi folks, Have any of you ever experienced getting a lower than 5000 ohm resistance when checking the pins at the 14CUX ecu? Pins 3 and 25 are giving me a reading of 300 ohms,, as per RAVE, that's too low. What would cause this? On a side note, I had a serious rattle coming from the engine bay...
  9. TPS Query

    Range Rover Classic
Hi guys. Can any of you tell me why my throttle position sensor is reading just 300 ohms at the ecu plug, when it should read between 4000 and 6000 ohms. I'd like to point out that I am still able to get the voltage range of. 29 volts to 4 1 volts through the full range of throttle. Its running...
  10. P38 hot start problem resolved

Range Rover Mark II / P38
I had an issue with my 1997 HSE. When the engine was hot, it would refuse to start or would start badly and recover after giving it gas and racing engine. As soon as it cooled down a bit, it would start right up and continue to run. While running, it ran perfectly. No faults or codes logged...
  11. 88 RRC TPS thread pitch

    Range Rover Classic
Just a quick question for you guys. I am resurrecting a 1988 NAS Range Rover and a dreaded previous owner has used sheet metal screws to secure the Throttle Position Sensor to the throttle body. I would like to clean up the threads and fit the correct screws but I don't know what the screw...
  12. Cranking no spark or fuel after flat battery and new TPS

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Hi, first post on here as just bought a 1998 4.6l auto on GEMS. Bought it cheap as it was changing down gears randomly and revving up. After bit of research took a risk that it was TPS as gad had box ECU and gearbox changed with no improvement. Changed TPS on collecting it but did not...
  13. P38 'Thor' TPS values

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Hi all, I've looked up threads regarding the TPS, and found that there are no actual resistance values regarding what the TPS should be... I've just bought a new one, to install as a hope that it helps cure some erratic throttle responses and idling - and put my multimeter across the 3 pins to...
