  1. Rebuilding EAS valve block what lube for o ring?

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Is there a specific o ring safe lube you would recommend for the EAS valve block rebuild? I have some Finish Line white Teflon lube for bicycles that I think would be safe. I know it needs to be non petroleum based to protect the o rings. What have you guys used? Any particular brand?
  2. Thoughts on Rebuilding an Alternator

Range Rover Mark III / L322
2004, 4.4L Range Rover started suffering many strange faults and after a battery/alternator check it was determined that the alternator was toast. It was still producing power so it appears that just the Voltage Regulator is the issue. Since there's no strange bearing noises or similar, and...

..hi guys..i have just received brand new alternator for my P38, so its going to be installed, this weekend..thats fine..now, old one, which is about to be replaced, was producing some weird whining noise, so i guess, bearing is out or brushes?? Range Rover Mark II / P38
Aloha. I am planning on rebuilding the valve block as part of my re-enabling EAS. Gathering parts right now and was curious, should I order the collets? Or do they typically not go bad. Vehicle is a 2000 with 130k miles on it.
  5. Rebuilding Front Diff?

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Hi all I have a 1998 4.0 V8 p38 with what I think to be a noisy front diff. I've had the truck in the air and disconnected the props to check the diffs for play and the rear is fine no play in the flange and feels smooth when turned, The front however has play in the flange/pinion both...
  6. Rebuilding a P38 differential

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Happy Holidays everyone! About 1.5 years ago, I swapped out the rear diff in my '99 4.6 for a used front diff from an '01. I expected the '01 to have a 4 pin diff in the front according to my research at the time that they were the same on both ends for the '01. For whatever reason, the used...

  8. I'm rebuilding a 150A genuine alternator from a 2001

Range Rover Mark II / P38
I've got a store bought one in the truck right now, and I just thought I'd give it a go rebuilding an OEM one. So, I took it apart and wrote down all the part numbers for the bearings, brush holder, etc. I was able to source most everything on the internet. Bosch voltage regulator/brush...
  9. Rebuilding a water pump?

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Anyone had any success rebuilding a water pump? Seems simple enough to press out and in a new bearing and seal set. At least that way I can insure I'm getting good quality bearings and seals.
  10. Rebuilding an ABS module

Range Rover Mark II / P38
One of my traction control valves isn't doing its job, making the brakes stick on. Solved it temporarily by cutting the wire to one of the TC valves, but I'd like to have it back someday and not giving 'Traction Failure' every time. I've been trying to find a company that's willing to rebuild...
  11. Rebuilding Oil Pump

Range Rover Mark III / L322
2003 Range Rover with BMW 4.4L V8 - Is it possible to rebuild the oil pump without removing the upper sump (which requires removing the differential and half-shaft running through it)? I got this car with a damaged timing chain guide (plastic snapped and almost completely disintegrated -...

  14. Rebuilding ZF5HP24

Range Rover Mark III / L322
A few weeks back my 2003 l322 trans went into limp mode. I've been having problems with the Trans for a while, firstly with overheating which seemed to sort itself after I replaced the radiator, and then with surging at 80Kph (about 100rpm up and down) which I figured was the Torque Converter...
  15. Atlantic British Brake Rebuilding Kit

    Range Rover Sport / L320
Anyone use this kit? For only $350 it seems like a great deal. I am not sure what kind of rotors it uses. Anyone have experience with these "standard" alternative rotors? http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/8859K.cfm Other than that I have been searching around for good rotors and pads for under...
