I am heading into my P38 fresh air intake plenum at the base of the windscrean this weekend to replace the filter but moslty to try and fix the source of water running into both side of my foot wells. The plenum filter is goone and it looks like there is a lot of pine needles in there. I am...

Oh Lawdy-Loo, my head gasket finally went. Who woulda thought! Obviously I still love the luxury and capability of my Rangie so I have no intention of scrapping it but dont have the funds to rebuild with top-hats. I've come across a 4.6 Thor with 98k miles that seems like a viable replacement...

Anyone else having problems with this part? I replaced my old filter about 10 months ago and the new, genuine, replacement is already breaking up. Has anyone found a more robust and suitable replacement material? I was thinking of a fine mesh or tougher foam(if anything exists)

I performed a cigar test on my 1999 HSE the other day and noticed smoke coming out of this red ringed plug doohickey on my intake plenum. I am not sure how to remove it and not even sure what to call it which makes searching for a replacement part difficult. Thanks for the help!

Hi, could anyone tell me if there are any water drains in the heater plenum box, if so where are they situated, and where do the outlet pipes run, do they join the sunroof drains, and empty behind the front wheel? If these are blocked, could this cause water to get into the footwell? Iv'e looked...

Hi everyone Ive just bought a 1997 4.6 HSE with 140000 miles on the clock. All seems to be running ok, but the plenum chamber cover says it's from a 4.0. My question is, is there any differance between the cover for the 4.0 and 4.6. Thanks Wally

I replaced my mostly disintegrated plenum filter this weekend, and followed the excellent instructions on rr.net. However we encountered a problem where someone in the factory had been a little over zealous with the windscreen sealant. The result was that both the windscreen bottom trim and...

Hi all, I am currently rebuilding my heads on my GEMS 4.6 motor and during the dismantling process I managed to break the brittle plastic plenum chamber bleed pipe which goes between the plenum chamber and the expansion tank. I have been trying to find a replacement pipe but am having no luck...

Fed up with replacing my filter every 18 months or so and rejecting foam as it may be too water absorbent I have use thin charcoal impregnated material which is sold as cooker hood universal filter replacement. Its jet black so it looks good, allows a good air flow as it is designed to, lasts...
