Couldn't find an oil dipstick under the hood but noticed a metal tube under the oil filler cap. Would that be for a dipstick?

I'm curious if anyone with a 2010+ RR Sport has seen their oil level on any of the lines under max or above the min mark. My oil level has only ever read minimum, halfway and max. I have never seen it show on any of the other lines that are on the display but I would imagine that it should.

So this cold has made working outdoors brutal and I think it contributed to finding white plastic chips on the dipstick this morning. For anyone who has had the guides fail is this a good indication of falling pieces. There have been some noises that could be mistaken for very cold idler...

I've checked the forums for this particular issue but have not seen another like it. My HSE has the typical oil leaks and recently, I have found that regardless of when, where or how I check the oil level, the dipstick always shows over full. Last night, it would not start because of no oil...

Well, I'm wrapping up a fairly major service for my '04 L322 including changing the upper timing cover gaskets and the valley pan gasket and a million other things, but when reassembling, I seem to be having trouble getting the darn engine oil dipstick tube back into place. I can get it in the...

Hi there A quick question for you experts: My p38 2,5d auto is missing its transmission dipstick+tube. It has been replaced by a piece of hose by the PO. Is it the same as for a 4.0/4.6 transmission? Best Regards Jakob Sendt fra min SM-G900F med Tapatalk

A warning to fellow P38ers. I was changing the oil and filter on the transmission and one of the steps is to remove the filler tube from the pan before it can be removed. The large nut holding the tube to the pan was really solid so I used a bit too much force and the fitting started to bend...

Hello Everyone, So, I drove my 2004 HSE RR through high waters while navigating my way through flood waters in Eastern North Carolina. Not by choice, but being stranded is no fun. The RR was doing well and water never came higher than up on wheels, I tried to make sure of that. We then almost...

Due to a shocking bodge by a previous owner, namely using metal weld overs missing sump plug, I would like to know is it possible to do an oil change on my 06 3.0l td6 vogue ? If so what type of pump should I use ? Thank you in advance .

Hi all, I drove off in my 1998 4.6 p38 and my brother was in the driveway and called me to tell me something had leaked out of the car so I turned around and went home to have a look. It was transmission fluid, I opened the bonnet just as smoke started to appear... Transmission fluid had...

Hi all, new to the forum, I'm finding it very difficult to find a dipstick for my 3 speed autobox so as a last resort I think I need to make one, thinking of using the steel flexible outer from a cable but I need some measurements, can anyone tell me the distance from the tube top to the high &...
