  1. Range Rover Mark II / P38
Hello folks, I belive that my steering damper is worn out. There are lots of replacements to choose from, the majority being based on the original. However, for the same price as the standard type I can get one from terrafirma with a bigger tube and greater oil capacity. This sounds great for...

I'm gonna regret asking this, I'm sure, but why do mass dampers on the final drive units have a wire going from one side to the other?

Hi GuysI'm new to this forum and need some help. The right rear top shock mount of my 03 TD6 has disintegrated. When I removed it to replace it, i noted that the previous owner seemed to have done a home made (botched) welding job on the old one instead of just replacing it with a new unit. My...

The weights are grounding out when I go over bumps, is there an adjustment to stiffen them or a shock absorber I may be missing? How can I correct this. Thanks

I replaced the lower lid damper and is was a straightforward job: 1- Open the combined lid to access the main cubby locate and remove the six sliver cad plated screws. 2- Pull the lower part of the upper lid off - there will be some resistance due to the little rubber bump stops. 3- Pull the...

My '93 LWB sat for about 2 months while I "fixed" the corroded rear diff cover and rotted exhaust, but now the steering is excessively "heavy"-feeling and sluggish; I need to turn the wheel BACK from a turn rather than let it slip thru my hands like before. PS fluid is up, belt is good, no...

Hi I noticed the pipe coming out of mine seems to have been squashed / bent and am wondering if this is normal? It doesn't look normal to me This damper is at the end of the fuel hose where it attaches to the fuel rail. See pics attached Steve

Hi all, Thirty-three hundred miles ago I changed my engine oil and filter, along with the plug and copper washer. I had just completed 3,000 miles from when I had purchased the truck last October and the previous owner's son had a complete fluid and filter change done before selling it to me...

Trying to change the rear dampers and having problems undoing the top mounting bolts. No sign of wanting to shift when leaning on the breaker bar. Some corrosion on the bolt heads so standard hex socket (not 12 point) fit isn't the best. Fit is OK ish but with 80 ft/lb torque on the bolts...

Well after 8 months with a new Britpart damper it's now leaking oil. Britcrap indeed. No offense to our brethren overseas. Given the limited choices for the P38 I may try a Terrafirma one next.
