I am posting on behalf of a friend who has a 2015 5.0 supercharged with 80k miles. He recently spent 3k on his service and was advised he needs both timing chain and supercharger coupling replaced. The noise does not happen always. I would like to know if the car does really indeed need new...

Transfer Box/Viscous Coupling - Grinding Noise & No Drive Greetings all Search has been done but I haven't found anything with similar symptoms other than transfer chain failure, H-L shift movement failure, or viscous coupling failure in which the coupling locks up - none of which seem to be...

Was thinking of changing out the supercharger coupling on my 2013 with roughly 75K miles. Has anyone done this as preventative maintenance? Is it worth the cost or should I wait until I start hearing some noise?

I'm replacing the viscous coupling in my 1995 RRC. I'm putting a new bearing and new seal in the VC housing. Do I need to grease the bearing before putting it in the housing, or does it just get lube from the ATF that goes into the transfer case? Thanks, Doug

Hey guys, looking at the best solution to remedy my viscous coupling problem. I'm pretty sure the thing is seized. When I turn a circle in full lock, the rear inside wheel will roll then scrub as the windup is relieved. Also when I lift a front tire, it turns a bit when it leaves the ground...

Had an intermittent overheating problem on my 1991 Highline. Some trips no trouble at all, but on other trips it overheated especially when traveling slowly in "town" conditions. The coolant was bubbling out of the header tank cap so the problem could have been an airlock problem and/or pressure...

Hi guys My viscous fan has been running constantly since i bought the truck, so I guess it got stuck engaged. I bought a new coupling unit and after going insane do to the nut holding it in place I finally got it off :) I replaced the coupling with the new one and it still runs constantly at...

My viscous coupling went bad in my blue 95 a while back and I've put off fixing it for a while now but I think I finally have time to tackle the project. I have never done a VC replacement before and there doesn't seem to be much in the shop manual about it. Does anyone know how to replace one...

Looks like a flex coupling on my 94 SWB is in a very bad way. For some reason I can't seem to find the right part on Atlantic British or Rovers North? Would be great if I could get a little help. Thanks!

I have raised 1 front wheel and could not rotate it. Gearbox was in neutral. Is it Viscous coupling unit, that doesn't work? :?::?:

Hello fellow P38 enthusiasts! My 1999 Bosch P38 is suffering from a seizing VCU. I have been looking for a new replacement but seem to come up empty handed. Does anyone have a link or recommendation for a replacement VCU? Thanks in advance. -Oats

Been noticing some issues. Vibration on turning, heavy steering, occasional chirp from front tires, and ABS triggering, and heavy tire wear on inside and outside of front tires.. Gets worse when hot or driven for a while. My diagnosis is pointing toward the viscous coupling in the TC is toast...
