  1. IAT sensor

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Well, to answer my own question, yes, I think they probably are inter-changeable/ v similar. I have a Lemark equivalent to NNK 10001, which I have compared to my old sensor. for fridge/ ambient and a 50 degree oven they read: OEM SAGEM sensor 3.95 ohms/ 1.7/ 1.2 and for the LAT 033 3.75 ohms/...

Just read your last post, the Ac Deco post mortem will be interesting then. Hope the car's ok
  5. Alternator opinions .. *warning long paragraph!*/rant

Range Rover Mark II / P38
I'd ask for your old one back, and get it rebuilt. You may be able to do it yourself with brushes, slip ring, bearings ( unless the windings went). It cd be worth doing post mortems on all the alternators to work out why they're all failing, just in case it is some external factor on your car eg...
  6. Help to review electrical sticky outputs - I think I have it sorted but appreciate input on my numbers

Range Rover Mark II / P38
While you're there, it cd be worth cleaning your earth connections to reduce the voltage drops (tho as Richard notes above that's prob not going to clear your main problem).

  11. BeCM and ECU out of synch

Range Rover Mark II / P38
In Nano for GEMs you need to go to the Utilities, where you Reset adaptive values and find Security Learn mode. For Motronic I guess the menu layout will be similar

This pic is looking up at the xyz switch (0501 210 740). If you see the right hand foot, there is actually a spacer nut between the switch and the gearbox mounting. There is another version ( 0501 211 036) which doesn't require the spacer nut (it has a taller foot cast into the body). If...
  14. Sunroof issue

Range Rover Mark II / P38
My sunroof didn't work and I ticked the box in the BECM and now it works. So before chasing cables etc I wd perform that one quick check, PO may just have hated the sun.
  15. BeCM and ECU out of synch

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Also, Nano is a bit particular about how you access the various ECUs (actually it's not Nano that's the problem). Each ECU esp EAS and HEVAC like to be entered one a time - it is safest (to get a clean session) between interrogations to put the ignition back to zero. Also "x" out of all the nano...

so selector bulb for neutral doesn't work, but instrument cluster displays "neutral" correctly? Should be alright then... Check you can get from Hi to Low properly too
  17. WABCO ABS BRAKE PRESSURE PUMP ACCUMULATOR - REMOVAL

Range Rover Mark II / P38
Re bleeding - obviously it is recommended, but I didn't and it seems fine, possibly you'll need to top up though
  18. WABCO ABS BRAKE PRESSURE PUMP ACCUMULATOR - REMOVAL

Range Rover Mark II / P38
I used the strap wrench for an oil filter (rubber strap) on it. It was pretty tight, it's true. Get plenty of rags underneath, even if you depressurised you will get brake fluid spraying out. The o ring will need replacing, so make sure you have replacement ready - the old o ring will be toast.
  19. Clearcoat is peeling...

Range Rover Mark II / P38
The roof is affected worst cos of the sun, but your bonnet will not be far behind. Go see a paintshop - once the clear coat is lost the UV will make the base coat fade. If you can sand back the clear coat without leaving flakes of clear coat behind (more than likely not though) then you can...
  20. Transmission Cooler Leaking

Range Rover Mark II / P38
xyz should be under no sideways tension. Did you remount the original xyz, or was it a replacement? If so, is the part no. identical ? the 1998 mounting has a spacer on one bolt IIRC, the later part does not need one. When you tighten up the xyz mounting bolts it should not feel forced/...
