Range Rover Sport New Stereo Head Unit??

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew of a possible different head unit for the Range Rover Sport where the Keypad is and the small screen? Any aftermarket stereo heads you could put in there. I love this car but I really dont like the interior stereo any suggestions?

The simple answer would be "No." If you want a more complex answer, search around or talk to a custom installer.

Grommet is right about about no easy solution however there is one. Some guys over on rrsport.co.uk have seen an eclipse unit fitted into the stock stereo spot. Im sure if would work fine however you would need some rewiring in having to bypass the stock amp, not to mention losing the bluetooth. You could probably simplify that by using stock wiring by just connecting the in wires to the out wires. You essentially would have 2 screens which may not be that bad, and the eclipse unit you can play whatever on plus the ipod connectivity is awesome on it, ive seen it in action. It will display the ipod screen basically and its touchscreen. Im sure any reputable stereo shop can fabricate a faceplate to fill any void left by the stock stereo. Heres the link from the other forum, starts on the bottom of page 3.

I wouldn't even think about it. The whole system (including bluetooth,
voice recognition, rear seat entertainment, navigation, MOST) is
tightly integrated. Why would you want to anyway?
There aren't any benefits to adding an aftermarket head unit,
especially at the risk of screwing up the whole system.
If your wanting to expand the stereo/video system, then you should
    be looking at something like

Yeah I was advised of the same thing from a professional installer...even offered the same equipment just mentioned (CleanSweep). He didn't want to touch my head unit because of the integration. That was good enough for me!

Actually you can keep all your features by keeping the headunit installed in a different location by making it fit somewhere else (can be hidden) and installing the eclipse unit in that spot. I am 100% positive this can be done by a good stereo shop that is familar with this process. The eclipse unit will control only stereo functions and you wont lose any of the features that are controlled by the stock headunit as long as you dont remove the factory screen, which you wouldnt need to anyways as it houses the nav. I use to see this all the time with honda radios because they controlled the power door locks. They would put the stock radio behind the new radio to retain all functionality. I havent looked for a good spot or anything but it certainly could be done it just depends on how bad you want to do it.

That eclipse unit would have to dispense free $100 bills on a regular basis
to justify doing something that drastic.

redline- would you mind giving some details on your install? I have been
looking at the cleansweep, but I have to admit all their product information
on this is really confusing. Questions I would ask you:
    1. Is your cleansweep installed AFTER the factory Logic7 amp? Pretty sure it is.
    2. Which speaker leads are you running thru the cleansweep? All of them (front left/right, rear left/right, subwoofer)?
    3. From what I gathered, you also need to have the CL-SSI (summing box)
in addition to the CL441dsp? The CL441dsp does not have subwoofer speaker inputs. Do you have the CL-SSI also, if so; how is it wired? Is it
in the 2-way or 3-way mode (this is the confusing part)?

I haven't talked to anyone else that has the cleansweep in their range
rover so I thought I would ask.

My sense after reading through all the cleansweep info and manuals (besides utter confusion) is that its only beneficial if you plan to run
all speakers thru it (its a total system processor). In my opinion,
the range rover system sounds great except for the subwoofer. So I
don't know if the cleansweep will even work if all you are doing is adding
a subwoofer and amp. Also, you lose all the Logic7 processing for
surround sound which is no good.

That eclipse unit is pretty badass, not sure about dispensing $100 bills worth. Like i said its just an option depending on how bad you want it. Lots of people are not happy with their stereo system and it all starts with that headunit. I upgraded everything and i must say my system sounds great but it wasnt cheap or easy. I know it would sound much better with a good quality headunit along with better functionality.
