I hope 10/29 works for Mike as well, since he has been at that park before and we were planning on meeting at his house. Jeff says he'll get drunk on the 28th, so no go for him. C'mon Jeff, can't you have a Coke or something? I am definitely down for the 29th.

Just across the street from this OHV park is the Rincon Shortcut, a ~23 mile trek through the mountains that comes out at Angeles Crest Highway. It is gated, so just check in with the Ranger at the Azusa OHV area for the combo and a green sticker - it's free. We did that for Father's Day earlier this year. Starts at about 1,500' elevation, goes up to ~5,000' and back up and down a couple more times before you're done. Even crosses a river at one point, which is a great place to stop for a picnic or a dip. I'll post some pics of our trip sometime.

It's an all day trip though. Give yourself at least 3-4 hours I would think, because there are a lot of places where you'll want to stop and take in the views, which are incredible. It's not very tough at all. You won't even need low gear for much of the trail. It's the scenery and views that really make the trip.

Here' a picture from the Rincon Shortcut looking back down the hill to the east at the Azusa OHV area down below (the white, dry river area).

Yeah, when we meet on Sunday I will formally request you turn over to me original file of that awful picture of me on the Segway.

I think frinsan and thebigmboy were interested as well... Unless Pokerplayer reappears and has a better idea, maybe we could meet directly near the entrance gate, would 10 am work for you guys? I'll post directions a bit later.

Oh sh**, I hate that part... 21" are coming off and 18" coming on. I might as well leave them on until next weekend when I "go beyond" with Mr. Spiker...
