They are white with slightly yellow tint to it. They definitely do not match the headlight LEDs if that's what you are looking for. Since the headlight LEDs have more of a bluish tint.

if u wire it like LR had intended, when you turn the headlight LEDs on, the DRL LEDs turn off. that's how i have mine setup. i don't like the headlight LEDs to turn on unless my low beams are on.

looks good man. not everything has to be matchy matchy. like you don't match your pocket square to the suit or tie or shirt. in this case, no one notices because the headlight LEDs are so dim in the sun.

    Hello, nOOb here.

Does the Drive control wire need +ve, -ve or open circuit to turn on the LEDs ? I would like the lights on with ignition and am happy to have all over factory functionality but if I can avoid pulling the console apart I would based on previous experience.

    Thanks

This is how I wired mine. The first two leads on the panel are hot when ignition is on and stays hot for 60 seconds after the key is removed. I wired both the brown (power) and green (gear control) wires to the first lead and left the red (headlight control) unwired and connected the ground to the existing ground connections. Let me know if the above clarifies your question.

Of course this is not the intended way that LR recommends but so far it's working perfect for me.

Got it, good info thanks !

The location of your first pic is the spot by the fuse box or under the center console ?

By the way, I told the dude that sold me my vehicle about this sit up and he swore up and down that this was not LR and must be aftermarket. I told him I would show him when it was done.

    Again, many thanks

The first pic is by the battery. i didn't run the wire through the firewall since it was going to be too much work. Here is a pic AwfAxis posted that gives you a clear understanding of the location.

The kit is part of the LR accessories list but they definitely didnt make it easy for an average person to install it. I think its easier to install it on a Autobiography bumper since you dont have to cut out a lot to make the hole. On a regular bumper you do have to cut out the whole back end for it to fit and its in a very awkward position where i had to keep switching my position to get to it. If you are doing it yourself make sure you draw the outlines based off the measurements LR gives you before you start cutting and make adjustments based on the fitting.

^that is powered with ignition on? is there a power where it will light the drl only when it is in gear? why do you need the two (+)wires?

You will have to run the green wire through the firewall and underneath the cup holders to connect it to the drive gear lead for it to only turn on when its in drive. See page 7 and 8 on the installation manual i posted on this thread.

Re: OEM LED Driving Lights = $700 OUCH!!

Thanks for all the help. I have the instructions here. My last car was a 2011 X3 and I added a new lower rear bumper piece that required cutting and removing some parts. Just takes patience.

I am just shopping around for a good price.

I found a place LandRoverPartsCheap.... has anyone used them ?

Glad i could help. The cutting definitely takes patience. I felt like the measurements i followed was a little short so i had to recut the edges to make it fit. I bought mine from a ebay page of an LR dealership. Which might be your best source for lower price. I havent seen these lights go lover that $650 anywhere since i wanted them last year so i jumped on it when i saw a $640 (including shipping) on ebay. Hope you can find one soon as well.

Honestly, that is strange. The other pics posted earlier in this thread show an installation with very white LEDS. Your pics are very different light color wise. LEDS should not have any yellow to them. Are you sure you are getting full power to them?

Honestly i didnt check the exact power draw from the connection but my lights are white but compared to the vanity LED's on the headlight its more of a 4500K vs 5000K. It could be that the camera i was using for the picture has a different white balance based on the setting (just a thought). I guess i will check the power draw this weekend and will report back.
