I had mine done by a dealer. I'd be amazed if they didn't exagerate the work required but it still didn't sound like an easy job. They apparently had to take a lot the motor/front-end out to get to it, then it needs a special puller tool and a press, as the bearings are compression fit and even with the right tools, a bugger to replace. Unless you're very handy and know exactly what you're doing, you probably want to take it to a specialist or dealer.

What's the cost on getting that done. I'm really looking to get the new coupler and oil changed as preventative maintenance.

You can purchase a refurbished SC for that cost. Installation is not excessive and can be done at home.

If you are just in need of the nose cone to be replaced, you can get one off of eBay for approximately $320

This vid is for a 2014 but it should be similar. Hayes manual might be a good resource, I have used them for practically every other car I have owned but do not yet have one for my RRS.

Don't really need anything replaced, was just going to change oil and get a new coupler as preventative maintenance.

Also I've posted a bunch of manuals I believe they are now sticky, may be of some help.

I don't think this is something I could tackle though.

During my timing job I had the supercharger out so I replaced the coupler. With the supercharger out of the vehicle, replacing the coupler (it's called "isolator" in the manual) is easy. You just unbolt the snout and replace.

Removing the supercharger would be the hard part of the job - you need an assistant most likely. I had to pry on mine to get it out. Also, there is some stuff on the back of the supercharger that has to be disconnected that is really hard to get to unfortunately. THAT is the hard part.

It's not a complicated job, just difficult from a "reach" perspective.

And yes, the manuals that have been posted were invaluable during my timing project - I could not have completed the job without them!!!!

See the sticky area at the top of the forum - you will see links for the electronic versions. Also, if you search "wiring diagram" you will find the electrical one. Mods - if you see this it would be nice to sticky the electrical one as well. I can dig it up if need be.

I actually bought my snout from this guy... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rebuilt-Ran...C+Supercharged

Worked out great! I had the supercharger out anyway to do the cam covers so my Indy swapped the snout for free. Turned out that the coupler had failed and was only turning the supercharger 1/4 turn per revolution!

Just FYI, here is a pic of the "solid" aftermarket coupler (left) versus the factory coupler (right):

On my truck, after 72K, the factory coupler was in very bad shape - there was a lot of "dust" where it had began to disintegrate. I had an incredible amount of play when I rotated the pulley on the end of the snout.

Here's a pic of the new coupler installed - you literally pop the old one out and pop the new one in:

As I said above in the earlier post, "if" you have the snout off it's an easy job.

I ended up having someone do the repair and bought that same coupler on ebay. Special Ed talked me through alot of what was needed to do the repair. I also got the timing chain done same time.
