    Brake pad wear sensor clip

I have been looking all over for the clip that holds the pad sensor in place but having no luck. I have a 2010 sport hse. One popped out and I can find it. Closest dealer is over an hour away. Was hoping to just order it online. Does anyone know what it is called as any combination of words I have tried has failed, or have a part number?

    Thanks!

    .

Every kit or sensor I have seen doesn't look like the clip is included.

Sorry for not including my info.

So that piece connects to the caliper but isn't there a removable clip that it slides into that holds it in place? Otherwise it doesn't fit.

doesn't fit into the caliper. There are only two on any LR product. One in one of the front inboard pads and on in one of rear inboard pads. It is a simple band of metal that when your disc wears through it the pad wear indicator system alerts you to pad wear. Then is up to you to take a flash light and look through the spaces in your rims... if they are big enough, and figure out which end is wearing. Most of the time it is front pads. Front brakes wear two to one for rear brakes.

That little clip is integral with the sensor - you need to buy a new sensor - not expensive. As mentioned clips into the metal backing plate of the brake pad.

I haven't found a sensor that includes that clip with it unless I am completely missing something.

It is in the pic you posted up a couple of posts up - the copper coloured metal bit. The sensor just pushes into the slot in the brake pad.

Re: Brake pad wear sensor clip

Ok some pics as I have new pads and a sensor in my parts bin.

This first pic shows the pad and the end of the sensor - you can see the metal clip in the slot at the end of the sensor - you can also see the slot in the pad that the sensor pushes into

Here is a pic with the sensor pushed into the pad - the metal clip is a spring and holds the sensor in the pad

    I hope this helps.

If you are talking pad wear sensor, then the sensor end just goes into which ever inboard pad has the hole for it.

Thanks for the images! It must have been the spring in the sensor that came out.

    Thank you all!

But before you burn money, check the caliper -- the clip might still be in there and didn't pull out when you removed the sensor. Had this happen on a LR3 a few years ago: tried to insert the new sensor (with the new clip) and it wouldn't fit; so down on my knees, pull out the flashlight and mirror and and voila, the old clip was still in place and blocking the installation of the new one.
    Cheers, Jim
