Multiple electrical issues 07 rrs hse

Hello all, I'm new to the forum! My 07 is having some strange issues I can seem to find a way to fully determine the cause of. Intermittently while driving, my TPMS light will start to flash and I get a tpms system fault message, then the doors will lock then unlock and my hazard lights come on. Then after about 30 to 45 seconds the nav will shut off and a vehicle system fault message will come on the radio and that, along with the climate controlled will also shut off. Usually only lasts for about 5 min sometimes longer. It seems to do it significantly more often if I'm using my phone ( internet/calls/Pandora etc). But if I don't use it for any reason the symptom seems to not happen nearly as frequently. Any idea would be greatly appreciated!!

How old is the battery? Have it checked for voltage and if the alternator is charging. Make sure the battery cables are clean and tight. If all that is good, make sure all your "earth points" (grounds) are clean and tight. Range Rovers and Jaguars can throw all kinds of faults at you when the battery is not supplying a strong, consistent flow of juice.

One other thing to try is a hard reset. Disconnect both battery cables and touch them to EACH OTHER. Leave them off for a minute or so and then reconnect. You may have to reprogram a few things such as the auto up/down window functions, etc.

I haven't don't a hard reset but I've tested the battery half a dozen times and monitored the alternator while driving and while the fault occurs and no abnormal readings were found, I don't know the age of the battery though. I'll try a hard reset on it by disconnecting the battery. Is it more of a reset than using a full function scan tool to reset the systems? And where might I find the "earth points" to verify clean and tight?

May not want to trust the on-board instruments as to whether or not you are getting sufficient charging. Don't know how the battery cable reset stacks up to using a scan tool, worth a try. I used the English term earth points because you might get better google results. Search for a drawing where they are on your particular vehicle.

I wasn't using the cluster for monitoring the alternator, I ran wires into the cabin and hooked up a dvom to monitor it. I'll try searching for the grounds to see what I can find.

Don't forget the easiest check first: Are the battery terminals TIGHT on the poles of the battery?

Indeed they are 😊 and I am getting a steady 14.5 volts no matter what I'm doing, even when the fault happens. Btw it didn't do it at all on my 26 mile commute this morning in 11 degree (Farenheit) weather but it happened 3 times on my way home at 31 degrees. And an added symptom my radio randomly says phone removed even if my cells Bluetooth is turned completely off.

Anyone else had these symptoms before? I'm really struggling trying to find a way to pinpoint what's happening rather than replacing parts to see if it fixed the issue. Thanks guys/g

Has the engine/compartment been washed recently? Drive through a creek or stream?

I pulled codes on it today and found lots of lost communication with instrument pack and a couple medium speed can bus failures.

I would go through whatever connections you can find, remove the connector and replace it. Just pull it off and reseat it, say two or three times. I suspect a connector with corrosion on a pin. Temperature related issues, unless that was a coincidence, are typically by changing clearances. Reseating connectors will likely clear the problem, unless the ones you addressed are not the culprits. Ray

I’ve been having the same issue. It is definitely temperature driven. In a warm climate the issue is intermittent. In a colder climate it does not seem to happen. I have not had a chance to do a system check yet: ie; grounds and hard reset. I will post an update if I find something or see a change after resetting.
