System Charging Fault. Battery and alt are working normally

    Guys,

I cannot figure out what is wrong. Today, I had my windows tinted and while they tinted the windows they kept a charger on the battery. Well, when I was getting ready to leave the battery light and critical warning light came on as well as the "System Charging Fault" light came on. I had the battery and alternator tested at two different auto parts stores and they both said that everything is fine.

I have disconnected the battery for longer than 1 hour and reconnected and I am still getting the fault light. Anyone have any clues as to what is going on? Seems to be an electrical issue that needs to "reset" because the battery is getting the proper charge.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Perhaps 'hard re-set' is needed.
I think you disconnect the positive & neg. terminals, tough them together for 5 seconds ....
But research it on here, don't recall the specifics

I think a hard reset might work: detach the negative cable and touch it to the positive post. Drains all capacitors. When you reattach the negative cable, tighten both cables and the connectors at the junction -- sounds like your problem is either a loose battery or a bad ground.

Ok; so what did work? New battery? Surely by now, you have running.
