    Power Steering Intermittence

We have a 2010 RR Sport with the 5.0 V8 and for the past month the steering will go from easy to hard to easy to hard as you turn lock to lock.

The fluid was a tad bit low, topped it off with genuine fluid and it has not dipped down again but still the problem persists. Before buying a new power steering pump, how can you bleed the fluid to release any air that might be causing the problem??

    Re: Power Steering Intermittence

Lucas makes a product to soften power steering seals. May be a cheap fix. Lucas power steering Stop Leak: solved an equivalent issue in my last XJ8.

Add some, leave the cover off and move the wheel back and forth lock to lock to bleed it.
    Cheers, Jim

In prior years models, this was caused by a worn steering shaft (think u-joints going bad). Once replaced you get consistent smooth steering again.
