Just Read through the 9 pages of the "official tire thread".... got some great feed back on where i want to go brand wise with tires... BUT here is my real question, Actually, i will just pose a hypothetical scenario regarding fitment and styling. Looking for opinions and ideas and "thats not gonna work" type of info.
Im looking for a bit more "filled out" kind of burly stance in my 98 HSE. My thoughts are to purchase the 16x7 black steelies from AB, Choose a tire that will be in the 31-33 inch range, Do any cutting needed AND/OR fit in 1 inch spacers and adjust the height sensors, to make room for the 32 or 33 inch tires. Im not looking for a true "lift " but just enough to get me into a 32 or 33 inch tire with full articulation. My truck is trashed from wheeling in the brush/trees of the back roads in Washington, far beyond paint buffing, so i think its time to ditch the big 18"s and go with a more rugged wheel. I plan on making the spacers ( buddy works at a machine shop)
Heres where im at for tires: ( these should all fit the 7" rim)
265/75/16 in either:
Dunlop Rover MT Maxx traction 31.7" @ 149 a tire on tirerack ( very knobby)
NItto Terra Grappler 31.54 " @ $120 onlinetires.com ( you all know it )
General Grabber AT2 31.9" @ @138 tirerack.com ( you all know this one too, kinda "tamer" looking )
Dunlop Radial Rover RT in a 235/85/16 31.8" tall @ $145 Tirerack. ( taller / skinnier tire, nice knobby tread)

Side note, id like a tire that kind of "bulges" on the rim, but im no pro at understanding fitment and sizing. Im also willing to look at wheels spacers as an option to stick the wheels further out. Basically im just looking to achieve a unique, 4x look, without going crazy..... yet. I would love any tire suggestions as well.
Anyone with photos of a p38 on 265/75/16's ?
