    water leak I had a leak on one of the hoses so took it off replaced clip and refitted

    I refilled with water no water leaked out so started engine no problems drove home 6 miles heard bubbling from header tank removed cap water came out so let it cool down for 1 hr then topped up ran again for a couple of mins but had to put more water in

    OKay... and...
    Sounds like you haven't purged the system of air so you will be overheating until you do.

    I would think that you need to run the system with the correct amount of proper coolant in the system, rather than just water. It has a higher boiling point than just water, so it shouldn't boil over. Also will stop it from all freezing solid in the winter, and has corrosion inhibitors in it to stop the internals of the engine from rusting

    Ok will try and do that I will open top of radiator hose I thought it might of been head gasket but no water in oil or on cap on top of engine

    Make sure the bleed hose from the top of the radiator to the header tank is clear by blowing through it, as this is how the system purges air
