2008 Range Rover SC Remote issues

    Good morning,
I recently purchased the above mentioned vehicle and the keys that came with both open the doors, start the car etc with the key blade but none of the remote functions work. The rubber cover over the three buttons was rotted away so I ordered 2 empty key cases and 2 replacement batteries from Amazon:

After moving the circuit boards, with new batteries soldered in into the new cases, the keys will still function to open, start, etc but the buttons still don't work. The car has to be recognizing the chip or it wouldn't start, correct? I just need to know how to enable the buttons to function. I have read the posts here describing but just want to be sure before proceeding. I can't risk shutting down the car just to have the buttons work. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

In order for the buttons to work you need to synch your remotes to the vehicle. Post #2 in the below link outlines the procedure for syncing two remotes.

When dealing with yourself, act with your brain
When dealing others, act with your heart.
