L322 M62: Broke small vacuum line on air intake, now codes?

    Hi Guys,

I was removing the air intake and I accidentally snapped the smaller of the two lines attached to it. I believe it is a vacuum line (It was extremely dry and brittle). I have searched numerous places on this forum and other BMW ones, however I cannot seem to find a consistent and definitive answer.

Can anyone tell me what specifically this is for and where it goes? How hard is it to change? Is there a part number for this? I cannot find it anywhere.

Also, I have a check engine light and got it scanned at Autozone. I am getting the following codes:

P0031 HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
P0051 HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
    P0037 HO2S - 12 (Bank 1 Sensor 2) Heater Circuit Low Input
P0057 HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 2, Sensor 2)

Could these codes be related to the broken vacuum line? It is such a thin line and I have read on numerous BMW forums that people drive with it removed all the time, so I did not think it would cause a check engine light.

    Thanks!

Bump...mine has been broken for a while...just been riding dirty how it is. But, I am finally bringing my rover back to life to how it looked and ran the day I bought it preowned certified from the dealer so, I would like the answer to this question as well.

It routes to the fuel filter via the following pipes.

    1. WJH000200 - HOSE - VACUUM 12A188
    2. WJP000340 - TUBE - FUEL VAPOUR SEPARATOR FRONT 9D289
    3. WJP000350 - TUBE - FUEL VAPOUR FRONT 9A228

Not sure what it actually does because it does not seem to make much difference whether it is connected to the air intake or not.

Re: L322 M62: Broke small vacuum line on air intake, now cod

    Thanks Guys.

Ghur, based on the pictures and item name this appears to be the vacuum line:

    https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/13321437692/

However the description seems incorrect "Line that supplies fuel to your pressure regulator" as fuel does not go through the line.

The BMW part # appears to be 13321437692

Assuming the product description was an error, do you agree that the BMW version of the vacuum line would be compatible or would the Range Rover M62 version of the vacuum line be slightly different than the BMW version?

I would say that the first section that runs from the intake and along the left of the inlet manifold would be the same. Doubt that the rest would be though.

The description on the ECS site is wrong but that happens quite often with these obscure parts. It certainly looks like the correct one.

Are you supposed to have a vacuum hose connecting WJP00034 to one of the PCV ports on the back of the intake manifold? I am in the process of doing a major engine refurb and disconnected it and that's the only thing I can't account for.
